Elections

Candidate Information

We are very excited that you are considering to show leadership and responsibility in representing Dimond High School and the surrounding community. Our mission is to convey the opinions of the student body to the administration, organize school events, increase participation, and promote school spirit. Student Government officers plan and carry out events for the student body (such as assemblies, spirit weeks, and dances), engage in service to the school and community, and speak on behalf of the student body to the faculty and administration of Dimond High School. Please know that being in Student Government is enjoyable and it requires a lot of responsibility. We strive to make Dimond High school the best it can be and we need your help. Consider running for office!

The first step in running for student government is to attend a candidate meeting. For the fall Freshman Election, candidate meetings will be Wednesday, August 23, and Monday, August 28, during freshman lunch in B103. If you cannot make it to either meeting but you want to run, you must see Mr. Wheeles in B103 to make other arrangments BEFORE August 28. The deadline to submit paperwork (which requires a parent signature and 50 signatures from members of your class) is Monday, August 28, at 2:30 PM. Paperwork can be picked up from B103 starting the first day of school.
